ABOUT THE PROJECT
This is a piece about time travel. I shot the series 8am-2pm in Tokyo, strictly one photo every 10 minutes. Then I raced to the airport, flew to Honolulu and reset the same film in the same camera. As I crossed the international date line, I landed at 7am on the same day. I then shot the double exposures over the original images at the exact same time.
The technical and logistical difficulty, coupled with the fact that I was alone and trying to shoot a documentary of the process simultaneously, made this the most stressful piece of art I’ve ever made. Thankfully the idea worked!
DOCUMENTARY
A documentary film about the project is currently in development.
